We had a water leak under the slab in our living room, and had a plumber out the Wednesday before Thanksgiving to find & fix it. The crew wasn't going to be able to backfill the hole until the Monday after Thanksgiving, so we had a massive pile of dirt in the room, along with a significant hole. They'd put up a plastic sheet barrier to keep the cats away, and I thought I'd done a decent job of anchoring it.
The wife and I were unwinding on the couch Sunday night (actually Monday morning at this point), and were about to go to bed. It was 1am, and I heard a cat crying. I looked around and couldn't find Toby, but could hear his cries coming from behind the plastic sheet. The little bastard found a way through the sheet and had jumped down into the hole. Due to the steel rod in his left front leg he was unable to climb or jump out, so he was stuck. I had to climb down and rescue him. Then my wife had to spend an hour bathing and drying him to get all the mud off his paws and belly.
Plumbing Inspector Toby approves the work.

Filed a claim with my homeowner's insurance for the repairs. I included the pic of Toby "inspecting" the work.
The adjuster approved the claim, and referenced the "inspection" as part of the reason for approval.

Gram, behind the $200+ kitty exercise wheel....that we bought six months ago, and nether of the little hairy shits will use...not once.
I've turned blue trying to explain to them how much fun this thing is, but to no avail.

Now we have two of them, and they like them. (Yes, the Litter Robot 4 retails for $650. Yes, we do actually have two of them. No, we didn't pay full price, we bought refurbished models on sale.) |

Did a break and enter through a neighbours front window (unlocked) to rescue #Bruno3121. It was a partially burnt out house so didn't disturb anyone but did have to dodge temporary supports holding the ceiling up. He had got stuck in the rear courtyard with high walls. He'd been stuck all night.

We're watching our kids' Golden this week (Oliver) while they're on holiday. Fortunately he and June Bug get along, as long as he does what she says. In this pic, you can almost hear what he's thinking:
"Are you seeing this? She stole my toy from right under me!"

These two…
These two are like an old married couple. Always getting on the others nerves. 😂 It was chilly yesterday, so sharing a bed was good for staying toasty warm.
I had to teach the dog that it was ok to reclaim his bed. Now he'll just climb in and lay down. If the kitty doesn't vacate, he ends up a pancake. 😂

This is Bumper, he is blind. But don't try to tell him that, he lives his best cat life and gives no f—is about a lack of eyeballs. If you're wondering he had surgery as a kitten because a common cat upper respiratory infection caused one eye to rupture and the other one was on its way to rupture. He's called Bumper not because he runs into things but because when I first picked him up he immediately started purring and tried to stuff his head up my nose. He's 5 years old and pretty much a perma- kitten size.

These are the rest of my kitty crew aka feline overlords:
Pooka is so spicy that the vets have to fully sedate her to examine her. I mean out with anesthesia, gabapentin just makes her slightly buzzed. The calico is Calliope. She's deaf now at 15 years old so she can stop pretending she doesn't hear me. Lastly is Kurokaiju aka Kurochan, 16lbs of giant baby cat with a tiny meow.
