Scarlett, our lady and the oldest of the bunch (11 years). Black, I found him in a ditch 4 years ago (he's a REAL a-hole, always in the garage and in our way) and Boy just appeared two years ago and stuck around (and he's afraid of heights)...

Still can't understand the box thing, but with at least one of ours, it's 100% predictable....

funny how those little meows became big strong beautiful sons. my tiny fuzzy guardians of the underworld that love packing and shipping materials. and walks, because they get to don their dapper little plaid harnesses.

Our evening ritual when we go outside for our last cigarette. Missy cat follows then patrols to the back gate to make sure no one is lurking in the shadows, comes back and patiently sits and waits watching for when finished. She then holler's for us to go in with her. Next is she lays on floor for me to get down and muzzles my hands.
Goes back to her basket and if we still sat down gets out and hassles us to go to bed going back and forth to her basket wagging her tail till we do.
Who thought this stray cat I use to feed at the back of the shop I worked in 9 years ago and was all teeth and claws would get so soft in her old age. Still bites now and again but doesn't draw blood that often 😃

We probably have similar hands, permanently scarred from vespa maintenance and cat bites & scratches.

Years ago a local poet asked my wife to do an illustration for a translation he was doing of Pablo Neruda's "Ode to the Cat" poem.

Last night over dinner with friends, we were talk about Naruda's murder reported on this last week, as has been reported in many news sources. I asked my wife to find her copy of Neruda's "Cat" poem and read it to us after dinner in her "slow but deliberate style so we could enjoy and relish every word and project them onto our own cats".

I thought I'd post it here for all the cat lovers. Enjoy!

Lucky. Found on a step outside daughter's high school on a hot August afternoon, moments before school let out. Could not have been more than a few minutes old. Probably would have been trampled, if not the heat would have done her in.

Girl who found her took her to my daughter, a known cat lover. Wife bottle fed around the clock for over a week. Eyes didn't even open till day 8.

Named Lucky b/c she was that to have been saved, but after 6+ years of having this terrific kitty we are the lucky ones.

Our cat "Jack", jumped up on my lap four times yesterday to
be groomed. Soft wire brush pulls up all his excess hair. I
swear he is addicted to it. He is now 12 years old. Tuxedo.

The only way I could reclaim my chair at the desk was do give Asha a better place to call her own. A repurposed wicker in-basket with a folded blanket did the trick...

You are half a world away from Minnesota, but, those vertical blinds
behind Asha are the same color and identical to those in my house.
If you look closely in my above post of "Jack the cat" on the brown
couch, you can see your vertical blinds fully drawn back open.

Small world. Of course, you have good taste.

I'm guessing you didn't need chest compressions.... Lovely kitty. That scooter pic reminds me of my guy's penchant for sitting on the seat of my GTS. Would make a great photo, but all I see is footprints long after the fact.

That's how Larry would often wake me up in the morning. He was very special, and I miss him.

A Cat's purring is thought to have (or at least cats possibly believe) healing effects for the cat and it's humans.

Had a buddy with a debilitating disease, his adult cats shined him on once he started to lose his mobility. I got him a couple of tiny kittens (not an easy task in California) those cats loved him, one was nicknamed nurse kitty, almost always next to him and was purring by his side when my friend left this earth.

Mine has a eating disorder 😳

Here's our oldest. Bit of a chubster, these days (years) she mostly eats and waddled to her bed for a nap. She does great me every morning and leads me towards her feeder (which already has food ).

Back in her youth she did a Rocky the Flying Squirrel 9 feet off of our balcony onto our stone path. Shook herself off and walked away.

Back with a photo of Jack checking out the coffee table we had refinished in the family room. He would always jump up on it - and must have noticed it was missing - then right back on it when it came back.

He will not be happy today - going in for his shots this afternoon.
