His voice is really high-pitched but he definitely chit-chats frequently. We have conversations all the time.

Any of you cat people get the cat to ride on the scooter with you?
I've seen dogs on scooters. I've seen cats on bicycles. Pretty sure it's been done, but just wondering how they handle it. I'm guessing most won't like it, but there's got to be some that do..... |

Dad's dog used to ride on his old 50cc Honda (crime) Spree ages ago. Same scoot I learned to ride on as a not-quite-14-year-old at the time.
Sadly sir is much happier indoors than out....and ultimately that's for the best around here. Maybe this spring we'll see about bringing him outside to do a test sit, but he's not keen on being picked up and placed anywhere. Nor is he a fan of the harness. Tried that already. He flopped.

So she shows up with one, decides we're going to take him along to a walk on the boardwalk at the nearby marsh. Yep, he flopped over on his side and refused to move, even when we tried walking off. I think she just gave up on the idea altogether

Willie left us a few years ago at 18, and Larry followed him a month later at 16.5. The 'Cornbread Culprit' was the blue-eyed Siamese-ish Graham. The morning they figured out how to open kitchen cupboard doors, then walked around on everything in them. ⚠️ Last edited by JBacklund on UTC; edited 1 time

This is Cricket. Found her at a thrift store back in 2008. Well, outside dying in the heat. We were going to take her to the humane society, but we turned left instead of right and she's been in our house ever since.
This is a not so rare picture of her venting her inner evil.

My wife and I currently have four cats at home.
Digby - a 9-year old (he'll be 10 in March) 8lb Nebelung Gemma - a 9-year old (she'll be 10 on April 1) 7lb Dilute Tortoiseshell Walter - an approximately 11/12-year old 20lb Maine Coon Toby - a 3-year old (he'll be 4 this May) 9lb Orange Tabby We adopted Digby & Gemma as kittens on the same day. They bonded to each other easily, although now Gemma seems to only tolerate Digby. Gemma has no fear. She's the smallest of the four cats, but dominates all of them. Digby has the softest fur I've ever felt. He also purr if you simply look in his general direction. He doesn't like to be held or picked up, but he'll sit next to us on the couch and let us pet him while he purrs. We adopted Walter & Toby the same day almost two years ago. Walter quickly bonded to me. He spends as much time with me as he can, and seems to tolerate my wife. He also tolerates the other cats, but doesn't want to play. We had to have all of his teeth extracted last year, and he's been doing great without them. Toby is our Special Needs cat. He had a fractured left front leg as a kitten, and has a steel rod in it. He also has some vision loss in his right eye. He runs, but not very fast. He won't jump or climb, but if we put him on the bed or couch with us, he's able to jump down to the floor with no problems. He's a voracious eater, and loves people. He wants to play with the other cats, but they don't view him as an equal. They can tell he's "special". Lately, though, Digby & Gemma will allow Toby to chase them. They'll run away from him, but slow enough that he can keep them in sight. Walter, Toby, & Digby sitting on/with me on the couch.
Digby. Nebelungs are related to the Russian Blue, but have longer, silkier fur. They all tend to look alike, too.
Gemma as a loaf.
Walter, after his teeth were removed. He almost constantly bleps now.
Toby, shortly after we adopted him. He always has his left front leg sticking out like that due to the steel rod in it.

For those that are curious about Toby's broken front leg, I've attached a pic of the pre-op and post-op x-rays.
As you can see, it was a really bad break. He had so many other issues, and with his age (approximately 14 weeks old), and the fact that it was the city animal shelter, I'm surprised they didn't simply euthanize him rather than go to the expense of multiple surgerys. We were given his medical file when we adopted him. It was 8 pages long. Reading through it, he had the broken leg, malnourished, and they said he was blind in both eyes and deaf (although they said that he regained partial sight in one eye). They neutered him and installed the steel rod in his leg at the same time. They had to put him under gain the next day because the rod had come loose. The only thing he had going for him was a voracious appetite - whenever they put food in front of him he ate it, even if he'd just eaten. He didn't spend much time with Dallas Animal Services, By the time we adopted him almost 2 years later, he'd regained almost all of his vision, and his hearing is just fine. He still eats like a pig. I did send an email to Dallas Animal Services last year thanking them for everything they did for him. I figured they deal with hundreds of animals a month, and would appreciate knowing that their efforts in at least one worked out well. Toby X-Rays
