Dear all, hi. This is my first post here. Been lurking for quite a bit, but had nothing to post as am a Vespa owner for only a couple of weeks now. So, first of all thank you to all of the posters (especially the moderators) - lots of interesting stuff to read.

My machine is a 2023 GTS 300 SuperSport. Had to wait quite a while from order as all models seem to be in short supply. At least I did get my preferred colour (Arancio Impulsivo). Accessories are also in very short supply at my dealer's, and I require a black rear luggage rack and a "medium" windshield, in preparation for a Sicily roadtrip coming up soon. He advised to try online.

I would really like to ask if anyone here knows whether the rack and windshield that were compatible with the GTSs up to the 2022 model year are fully compatible with the newest models. Web shops that stock Vespa parts are not very clear about this to say the least.

By my reasoning they should be, because Piaggio AFAIK did not change anything as regards mounting points at the front or rear end of the scooter. Or did they?

Appreciate any feedback anyone can give me.

All the best for the new year!

Ian

I have the exact same scoot as you.

I was able to reuse the top case rack from my previous GTS so I would "assume" the luggage rack would also fit.

Windshields... yeah real short list and I believe just the full size Vespa screen fits. I spoke to my dealer and if we're still out of luck he'll cut one down for me to less than ludicrous height. I do know my Faco twin would not fit.

My top case is on back order and I believe about a month out.

Welcome to early adoption. Something I try to avoid professionally but for a brand new HPE2 in Arancio Impulsivo ? Hell yeah! I have a feeling this model in this colour will sell fast.

Very short list of after market stuff but I imagine that niche will fill up fast.

Hey Harbinger, nice to meet you.

So... you are sure that Piaggio part number 006494 (don't expect you to know this off the top of your head, but it is the pn for the OEM medium windshield, listed on the SIP website) will not fit? But did they re-position the holes on the handlebar cover? I need these parts quickly. I could order just the rack and wait a little for the shield.

I have the medium-sized "traveller" screen for my 2012 GTS (Quasar engine) and that definitely does not fit. The holes in the handlebar lined up OK, but the cutout for the headlamp did not.

Hey Oliver! Nice to meet you.

Thank you for confirming this. I have in fact concluded that a windshield that will fit an "HPE2" Vespa, as everyone seems to be calling it, is non-existent or very rare at the moment.

If one were to believe the Vespa Italia official website, the part number for a medium windshield to fit a 2023 GTS 300 would be 1B010112. But I searched all the usual on-line shops, and none have it in stock. Wouldn't know if other brands like Faco, Givi and the rest have one that fits; but prefer OEM personally.

I have a Faco med wide windscreen. the outside edges are the same thickness as the rest of the screen. I wish to lower it about an inch to provide a bit more wind protection for my hand comfort but the headlight prevents the lowering without modifying the screen. I will be carefully grinding the plastic where the headlight is preventing with lowering . Hand files can do the job of grinding ,although slower and more sanding will likely be needed for smooth , good looking finished edge
windscreen. Sanding the ground edge for a professional looking job, then I will cut a piece of black fuel tubing over the modified screen as backup to help keep the screen from damaging the paint on the headlight assembly. Many have done these modifications and the member from Malta should be bale to find a tool to assist in creating a screen that will do what he/she needs ASAP. good luck hope this will help others that are forced to help themselves.

Hi Ian

I believe it's the "wind sail" aka the full sized OEM screen that fits. That was the screen my dealer was discussing with me as many people cut it down to a height that's preferable to them.

You might want to try calling scooter west or other large dealer as they might be able to tell you over the phone. Looks like the horse really did come before the cart here and all of us are going to be waiting for a bit. I've now done 2 freeway runs on the scoot and not having a screen does make a huge difference. Last rides I had without one were a P200 and a Jet200 but the wind was beating against my much younger chest at the time so I guess bothered me less.

I don't really understand how the tall screen is supposed to fit while a medium screen doesn't. They both need a cutout for the headset and that should be the same size, no? What's the difference other than height and width?

I know that MY medium screen does not fit, because it was made for the ten-year-old pre-facelift GTS.

In at least one of the reviews, see the 2023 thread it was clearly stated that the windshield that fit the 2022 and earlier GTS do not for and a new medium windshield was in production for it. I've got a 2023 SS on order along with the medium windshield when it starts shipping. The previous rear racks do fit, both OEM and aftermarket.

1B006494 is the medium windshield clear for GTS 125/300 from 2019 to 2022 and does NOT fit the 2023 GTS

Frank thomas - thanks for your post, contents of which have been noted. Not a fan of taking a file to perspex to modify unless ABSOLUTELY necessary. Most I would consider is buying the huge full-size shield and modifying the top part until I'm happy with it. But, as someone pointed out, why should the "sail" screen clear the headlight contour and not the medium-sized? Depends on how long Messrs Piaggio take to start churning out the proper thing. Next roadtrip scheduled in the second half of May, so hopefully I would have found a solution by then.

Hmmm... good luck cdwise. As soon as I discover a 1B010112 somewhere on the web I will go for it pronto. Piaggio are so incredibly laid back about certain accessories. Don't even have a contact email on their Italian home website.

It's what the dealer said would fit and it could be he had some coming in sooner for the new models than the other OEM screens. I really didn't probe as I'm not a fan of it. I'm lucky enough to be able to walk a to Vespa dealership so never need to instal any of my own gear. He's gone down south for a bit and we'll connect when he gets back. Winter here I'm usually using the sidecar rig as it handles snow better than say a Vespa will…

Thanks, I "heard" Feb-March for the new 2023 accessories including the heated grips and seat I also ordered. How accurate that will prove to be I have no idea.

That I'm looking forward to as well as the heated saddle. Any word on when that will be available for order?

My dealer has the order in but no ETA. My WAG is late spring when no longer needed this season.
