Hello everybody
Hypothetically, if money was no object, which 2023 Vespa model would you purchase between the 300 Super Sport and the 300 Super Tech. Why would you choose the model you have and what colour would be your preference.
Thank you

Thank you ![]() ![]() ![]() You have more features on the SuperTech and the display is crisp, easy to navigate and read in dark and light. The 2023 has a lighted cargo area under the seat but so what. The GTS 300 lacks the temperature gauge for ambient temperature but it does have the motor temperature. They're just different in terms of styling and the headset, otherwise they both ride great. I would choose based on the Color and whether or not you need the ability to have Navigation, I like using the Nav when I need it otherwise the standard GTS, Super or Super Sport will do just splendid ![]() ![]() ![]()

Here's some photos that may be helpful for you. I really like the new light silver Vespa, very different from my bronze super tech, the lighter Grigio looks more purple to me, lots of violet in the paint makes it fun.

Since the technical characteristics (engine, brakes, chassis, etc.) are identical for all variants, I think the vast majority of customers decide based on the colors and details offered (seat, seat stitching, chrome/black/graphite add-on parts, rims).
White is the only color that is available in two variants (in Super and SuperSport). Note: Black Convinto on Classic and Black Deciso on Super are different. The only technical differences are Vespa Mia (standard on SuperSport and SuperTech, extra charge on Classic and Super, if desired, then from a price point of view you can take SuperSport right away). Analog/digital speedometer on Classic, Super and SuperSport vs. full digital with navigation on SuperTech Illuminated glove box on SuperTech |

Roba, could you show us a picture of the storage light without the bucket? There can't be much room to install a light. I wonder how they did it.

In my case the solution was simple and it came down to colour. The Arancia Impulsivo it gorgeous right down to the retro styling with the stripes. I also prefer a more analogue look on the dash though the addition of the smaller digital display is welcome. It provides more detail while still paying homage to the Vespa heritage.
Now all that being said it just comes down to personal preference, you be you. Orange is also one of those colours that some people absolutely love. The black SuperTech is nice but I would have been more interested if the trim was done in back and not chrome. If you have decided to buy a new large frame Vespa I would not let a $1000 here or there make a difference. It's a premium scooter, something you will own for a while and buyers remorse sucks. I do love my tech toys but it's a game you are never going to win. My BMW has the big TFT thing going on as well as a Garmin GPS. I do like it but find I rarely use the advanced features. The BMW GSA is a classic design but takes better to a large digital display as elegant is not a word I would use to describe it. For navigation I find my Sena gets the job done using Waze or Google Maps well enough. You need a setup that allows you to hear nav alerts in high winds and freeway riding though. The audio alerts have improved over time and I find you are given plenty of indicators when it comes to what lane to be in and exit to take. Just my 2 cents and you will find people on both sides of the fence here. If only the SuperTech came in Arancia Impulsivo I would currently own one regardless of how I feel about preferring a more classic dash. In short with all things being equal it came down to colour and trim. The light in the pet carrier is a nice touch but meh :-\ . I almost always use a soft courier bag in my storage and it's really not that large a space. On my C650 I did like the light and padding under the seat but the space was much larger. If you can look at both in person for a bit and go with whatever puts a bigger smile on your face. Just realized the OP lives in Victoria. By this time next year I'll be living in Nanaimo , a few hours north on the Island. Looking forward to riding down to Victoria on a nice fall day.

For me it came down to color and trim. The only super tech color I liked was the blue and when it would be available in the US remains unknown. I also didn't like the mix of a flatter finish leg shield trim and chrome passenger pegs, mirrors and accents on the grips. Either make them all chrome or all matte. I preferred the crispness of the black trim on the orange and black super sports or the chrome on the supers which looks good with black or red scoots.
The mix of analog and digital on the SS dash appealed to me as my first GTS 2006 had that. My understanding is the navigation on the Supertech is of the minimalist variety using the iPhone app though greatly improved with Steelbytes android version. Since I generally use my phone for casual riding or if riding something where exact route is important like the cannonball my Garmin Zumo connected to my headset built in navigation wasn't that important to me. Especially as it seems there will likely be a subscription required after the first two years. Now if I had the ability with the iOS app to mirror the directions to the headset I might have given navigation more weight. |

I chose the Supersport. Somewhat because of color and features. I like the idea of connecting my phone but haven't done it yet. I've only owned the scoot for 2 days, going to get registration done today (bought it out of state). LOL!

First off, HUGE CONGRATULATIONS!!
You must have bought it at Vespa Motorsport in San Diego!?!?! Very beautiful Vespa! I love the Super Sport. For me, I bought all the colors I wanted, but the new Matte Blue Super Tech would probably be my very first choice, the color is stunning and the tech part of it actually works pretty good. You're correct - Vespa Motorsports. Nice crew, straight-forward and knowledgeable staff. Had them do some work on my 01 ET4 as well.
Will be taking this ride to Flagstaff soon for Amerivespa. |
