Funny thing is they came this morning now with the request for bill of sale and I'm assuming eventually they will want statement of facts. I guess I posted about the black hole too soon. They are questioning the title dates, as the sold date is like 5 years ago and I filled out date of sale as January 2023. At least it's not a black hole! This should be able to be sorted out reasonably quickly.

I feel your pain. I put in for a title on the P200 December 6. On January 12, I was sent everything back requesting more information. Mailed all of it back with info. So another month waiting with no way to call to check up on the process as all communication is done by email. Wheels turn slow, but at least they are turning.

It's working, now I got a request for a form to put it on non-op status. I'm hoping with this submission the next email will say you owe X dollars, pay up.

Oh yeah, got the payment request today. Came in a bit lighter than expected, but still harsh at $656 to get it transferred and on non-op. At least no more fees will be accumulating while I fix this up. Payment sent - the virtual system does work.

Now that I think of it, the rest of what I was expecting to pay will probably come due when I pull it off non-op. Still - why pay it now if the bike isn't on the road?

Title has been secured. Bike is now on non-op. Tomorrow is the day to pick up the bike and some goodies to revive it from Greasy. The countdown is on!

so for John's arrival to chez greasy I drug this out of the boneyard:
to free this from it: and knocked some new shoes on the project while all the tools were out: yes... yes, that is water all over the floor of the shop. it is raining that much here in socal. now to rustle up some go fast bits from Kajiit used power & speed equipment department to lighten up his wallet a little more!

John did a flyby and the weather somewhat held enough that we didn't get totally soaked loading up the bike and parts into the magical minivan of holding!
the sales department at Kajiit Speed & Machine were able to twist his rubber arms and with little cajoling take a 190 and malossi variator. the wares division threw in a rear rack for a givi box and a S150 solo seat so it should be a good looking little bike and fun project! we BS'd about scooters a fair bit (while I was freaking out looking for the master key) and discussed some of the particulars of the build and what upcoming projects we both have. it's always cool to hang out with scooter peeps!

Recommendations for cleaning this up to work on it? Have to be careful not to get any water in the intake!

I need it clean enough to swap a top end.
For swapping the top end, my bench is kinda small. Wheel on or off? It stands nice with it but it takes real estate. Will it be stable without? |

Wheel on for stability.
Tape off the holes and hit it with simple green and a brush. Take off the airbox for a good scrub and filter clean. The shroud around the cylinder needs to come off so you can clean those separately. Hopefully cleanish underneath. Replace the inlet manifold and gas/vacuum lines while you're at it.

Will it be stable without? as above, definitely pull the shrouds off. I use a big concrete mixing tub and just stand the whole thing in there and go to town with old/bad gas and a long bristle parts brush. then hit with some cleaner and call it done. because you're doing the 190, don't even bother cleaning up the cylinder. just clean the base/case area really well and the head where they meet. then clean the head separately when it's all apart and go back and touch up where you missed on the case. easier to clean the valve cover when it's all together, too so start there. |

I would be proud to own and ride a the white scoot up on the lift with water on the floor. I wish the new restorer, owner, many happy years of riding it after restoration. (just fluid, flowing lines, I think are even nicer then my 250gts.)

The immobilizer light blinks when keyed up, is that good or bad?
Signals do nothing. Starter button does nothing. The rest seems ok. |

The red key stops the immobilizer light when keyed on and tries to energize the starter relay. I don't think a battery charger can actually turn over the engine. Looks like the blue key was forgotten or is bad.

Kajiit can be very persuasive - if you buy Malossi kit I give you seat from Vespa S and chrome rack. What, no good? Take my canyon dancers!
I brought more cash expecting a bit more sales push but it was freezing and I think it took a bit out of his sales fervor.

Cold wet Chuck Taylors for shoes didn't have me trying to stay much longer anyway. Kajiit will get another chance in warmer weather.
