Sounds like a problem with DNS at your end. Have you enabled DoH?
Sounds like a DNS error however that does not explain FF working. It could be a proxy issue but not sure why/how that would be turned on by a home user. But yeah worth checking the advanced properties of the connection to ensure no boxes are ticked. Still worth overriding the DNS settings and putting good ole' 8.8.8.8 in the DNS server field and just for fun toss 208.67.222.222 in there too.
Plus we always like to say have you rebooted the router/modem? FWIW I have seen this issue and it's always been a flaky connection. We deal with it very often with users on corporate VPN connections on macOS. It has to do with how the OS manages traffic over a secure tunnel in that all traffic has to flow through it. I could drone on forever about this crap... The best test to really check it out is to try tethering over LTE thus eliminating your home connection. Apple has been doubling down on security while at the same time making their desktop/noteboook OS look like more and more like a glorified iOS. You should have seen the look on my face the first time I went into sys prefs on Ventura...
