Hello all,

Vespa newbie here. Not technically unable- but not used to vespas yet. Dome some valve checking on my BMW motorcycle etc

I would like to install an 80cc kit on my 50cc scoot. Any suggestions?

I suppose the engine will have to come out:)

Yes your engine will have to come out.

Malossi kit is about the best. If your scooter is fuel injected, you will need to replace the CDI. If not, you might need to upjet slightly.
The Malossi air filter compliments that kit very well. It gives the scooter more air, while keeping the stock air box.

Thanks all. Great to be here.

I bought the Polini kit. So it looks like the engine is going to have to come out. That'll be fun

I have a primavera 50. 4t 4V. 2016 model. With carburetor. Never tuned a carb in my life - going to have to figure that one out - kit came with a new main jet.

Should be a fun Spring weekend.

How are you all doing? Anyone else working on new mods?

It's not really the engine coming out. The engine stays put on the stand and rear tyre while the body of the scoot is lifted away. It's pretty easy to work on after that.

If you're going to take the engine out, put some money into parts, and put some personal time into modifying it, and then put it back in anyway... might be worth looking around to see if there's a 150cc engine you can swap in instead. Food for thought.

That sounds good. More of a lifting or pulling the engine out then. Got the kit ready and am tooled up.

Going to have to just find a couple of dry days that I can work on the bike outside.

No garage unfortunately:(

Bring on the spring!

Now there's a great project for your youtube channel. Show people how easy it is.
