Hello all I am an old bike mechanic and retired aerospace engineer who has a 2009 250cc project. It's a complete motorcycle that purportedly ceased to be viable after a low speed off at a roundabout. Where do you start with such a high tech machine? Firstly ensure the battery is full bottle and connected properly then what? Is there a built in self test? Does it throw codes? Is there an obd2? Open to suggestions and perhaps others will benefit from a step by step fault finding troubleshooting sequence.
There is no OBD2, at least nothing with a conventional OBD2 plug.
The factory PADS diagnostic tool is only available to dealers and only useable with a active subscription (read not a tool found in the DIY'er toolbox).
If the vehicle in question has had any sort of frontal impact, then I'd consider it a lost cause. The cost of bringing back a wrecked MP3 is usually far more than what it is worth a.k.a. not economical to fix.
On the other hand, if the damage is superficial (scratched painted and a busted turn light) then it could be fixed as long as the body is straight and no body panels are broken beyond repair.
