Hi, I just put Dr pulleys in my vespa and changed the belt, I have a variator holding tool but not a clutch holder.

To remove the clutch I used an impact but I'm obviously not using that for installation, problem is that I can't reinstall the clutch because the bell keeps moving, even when jamming screwdrivers thought the holes and holding the back brake.

Do I need a clutch holder or is there anything else I can do?

Also I saw a guy called Mitch's scooter stuff on YouTube put a bar wrapped in a rag on the back wheel to keep in held, will this work?

Thanks

Take it off the centerstand and get a fat chick to sit on it, pull both brake levers, bingo.

Do you have a strap wrench?

Otherwise, they have the clutch wrenches on Amazon pretty cheap:

Unfortunately I don't, but I have no problem buying a clutch holder but I want to get this done quick so don't want to wait for delivery

I'd say get creative and try the bar/rag trick.

For the second time in 24 hours, I recommend a u-bolt from your local hardware shop.

And I vouch for it. It's watch VRM has in his shop and it works great.
