Slowly making progress on getting my Primavera back together, and I was able to test the new harness and see everything light up pretty.

The turn signal switch works great in one direction but in the other direction it requires a little pressure. I could solder a little material on the right side of the moving part, which would be enough to make solid contact. I don't do pretty soldering work but think I could manage to not mess it up.

The replacement is $20. Not a lot but it looks a little cheaper too. Or I could get this one with an indicator:

Any reason why I shouldn't try a fix? Or suggestions for a better fix?

I have the non-indicator version of that switch on my GL. It works well, BUT... One time, I went to switch it and the handle broke off. I fixed it by screwing a wood screw into the remaining part, then using jBWeld around that.

Other than that, though, it's been great.

I am a big fan of original parts. I would try and fix it. It's lasted this long. It'll probably last a while more. But that is just me.

If you want to fix it, look at why the ball bearing isn't clicking solidly into place. Broken spring? Corrosion? You can most likely fix it pretty easily, really

I disassembled the whole thing to see if something was keeping the spring from pushing up the ball and just to clean it up. I turned that top part with the ball end 90 degrees because there was visible wear. That didn't fix it.

So I cleaned up the posts with some steel wool and now it works perfectly. It looked pretty clean but it must have been just enough oxidization to keep it from fully contacting.

Picture is just for the record, so you can see the guts.
