As I was riding hit a bump and it died, checked fuses all all were okay. Digging deeper into it, removed the battery and found the plug from HV coil, not the one to the spark plug. There is another plug with two wires were cut but battery rubbing against and the battery housing. Question #1 where does it go to as it is buried in the harness. #2 how hard to replace or unplug from the other end and replace? #3 looks like it may be easier to solder the wires? Anyone have to replace this out there? Thanks for looking at this.

Looks like a pain to remove it from the harness

So the actual HT wire to the plug is OK, it's just the LT wires to the coil that need attention? In that case, solder and heatshrink will be fine.

Yes the HT wire to the plug is good. Thanks for the input as trying to follow this back and remove from the wire harness seemed like a lot of work.
The only good thing is I had intermittent issues with blowing a fuse that seemed to take out the power to the fuel pump. . I'm kind of hoping this is related. This broken wire killed the whole scooter.

Yes, that would blow the fuse that feeds the coil, fuel pump and injector. Let us know how the repair goes.

Hi Timmer65 and welcome from San Diego.

I have a 2007 GTS also and this is one problem I have not (yet) encountered. Thanks for posting it. Looking forward to the results of your repair.

I have owned this Vespa 250 for about 10 years. I would get very intermittent fuse blowing, usually for the electric fuel pump after hit a pot hole or good bump. Replace the fuse and go. Couldn't figure out where it was coming from until last time it just totally died on a local ride. Finally pulled the battery for winter and noticed this wire cable going through the battery compartment to the coil. Upon closer inspection and pulling off the covers to get to the coil I could see the wires were cut from the battery rubbing against it and the compartment were it sits. Time to fix it when it gets above 30 here, really hoping this is it. Nice to find an issue when searching for a reason why it kept blowing a fuse. Ready for Arizona and the Rally

It's back up and running. After soldering the wire back together and rerouting the wire through the same location as the HV cable. I plugged everything back together and it started up. Thanks for the comments and advise. A happy rider today, now just have to wait for the ice to melt and ride.
