Before I tear into it, are there any tips on removing the glovebox lid on a 2021 MP3 500? I want to mount a Quad Lock base with vibration reduction and it will be easier with the lid separated. Removing the windshield will help but I want access between the top and bottom layers of the lid.
Thanks for any suggestions.

That's a lot of work for a little gadget.

You'll need to remove the center plastics and the instrument cluster.

That means starting at the tail end and working forward, akin to peeling an onion.

Thanks for the info. Today (before reading your reply) I went ahead with the project without removing anything besides the windshield. It turned out really nicely and places the iPhone (GPS) at a perfect height. Wireless charging and the Quad Lock Vibration Damper work perfectly, too.

Can you post a picture of the finished project? Others might want to try the same project.

Here you go. The position is perfect, needing no tilting-head-down to see the screen, even with a full face helmet. The Quad Lock Waterproof Wireless Charger works just like it's supposed to and the Vibration Damper appears to do its job, too.
The photos show the position, the top mounting plate and a thin metal plate I installed on the bottom of the glove box lid to distribute the stress of the four mounting bolts.
Quad Lock's customer service is stellar.
Hope this helps anyone considering a higher phone mount.

That turned out really well. The glove-box lid itself isn't very strong but if it can handle the weight and vibration then its a good fit. My own phone mount uses a ball-mount with arm and phone-holder mounted via the underside of the glove-box. Works great but leaves the phone exposed a bit if its raining. I may re-do my phone mount to mimic what you've got, solid work.

How its currently mounted. The phone blocks part of the instrument center console. Which hasn't really been an issue, except for the occasional failing to notice the turn signal is still on.

The only issue I see with the glove box install is the USB cable failing due to getting pinched each time.

Granted, replacement cables are usually a dime a dozen but if the lid does not close fully it will let in water.

I keep my wallet and housekeys in the glovebox, so water entry is a deal breaker for me.

About keeping the glove box waterproof. One could easily use a hole-and-grommet (with some black silicone sealer) to ensure a good lid seal.
A previous clip-on holder did block the turn signal indicator and it drove me nuts. 😊
