Sadly, the Vespa is gone. Current machines: 2013 BMW R1200R, 2026 Royal Enfield 650 Classic (the pretty teal one).

Hello mush90. Welcome to MV. I used to own a Yamaha Vino 125. A well built scooter and fun to ride. We love pictures BTW - especially of other members scooters!

Hello and welcome, Mush90!
My first scooters were Yamaha Vino 125s, superb machines and well loved by my daughters and me. I rode them regularly for nearly 15 years, and reluctantly sold them last fall to help fund my second Vespa, at the not so subtle suggestion of my wife. I'd like to see pictures, if you have some. Cheers, Bob ("Curmudgeon")

Welcome Mush90.
Those that have/had Vino 125s, I bought a new '08 Vino 125, and put just over 36,000 miles on it. Rode it all over southern AZ several times. Unfortunately it would not climb the mountains in northern AZ with my 240 pounds and about 30 pounds of stuff on it. I replaced the rear tire so many times that I wound up damaging the rear wheel with tire tools and had to get another one off eBay. Only had 2 problems with it. The exhaust bracket broke, and I had to modify the mount to keep it from happening again. I think that was only an issue with models with the PAIR system, like mine. And a belt with only 4000 miles on it shredded out in the middle of nowhere, leaving me stranded in 110 degree weather. I had to wait for almost 3 hours for a tow truck, in that heat, with no shade. It looked like the belt melted. I probably shouldn't have been riding it full throttle on the highway in that kind of heat. I would buy another brand new one if they still made them with the same design as the original. |
