Hi all, bought my first vespa last night, a 2010 GTS 300 Super.
It has quite a loud aftermarket exhaust that i'm not a big fan of. Looking to replace it with a standard exhaust.
My question is will a standard exhaust rear muffler fit off a newer 21 model 300 hpe? Seen a 'new' 2nd hand one for sale.
I know the older models ie 2010 have a longer pipe on the muffler compared to the HPE but i have seen extension pieces for sale which could maybe fit on the newer mufflers to fill the gap?
Sorry if thats confusing.
Any help is much appreciated....or if anyone has a tidy stock exhaust for sale?

Thanks

As of fall 2016, the engines & exhaust systems have Euro 4 standard, before that Euro 3. I would refrain from using a not matching Euro 4 / Euro 5 exhaust, even if it would fit.

You can find the original exhaust here: https://www.scooter-center.com/en/exhaust-piaggio-vespa-gts-250-zapm45100-vespa-gts-300-zapm45200-zapm45202-vespa-gts-super-300-zapm45200-zapm45202-vespa-gtv-250-zapm45102-vespa-gtv-300-zapm45201-18750315?number=18750315

Please check first if your VIN is compatible with this exhaust (should be ZAPM45200).

The compatibility list (at the bottom of the page) shows you for which vehicles / years this exhaust fits.

It should not be a problem to get a used original exhaust, many exchange the because they buy a sport exhaust. Maybe you can find someone who wants to swap.

I would guess the newer exhaust would just have a better cat system than the older models. But that is just a guess.

You're right. The limits for CO, HC, NOx, PM became stricter with Euro 4 but also volume in dB(A). But the problem will be that this may have required changes to both the engine and the exhaust system.

The Euro3 models have
Maximum torque: 22 Nm at 6500 rpm and
Maximum power: 16.4 kW at 7500 rpm.

The Euro 4 models from 2016 (non-HPE) have
Maximum torque: 22.0 Nm at 5,000 rpm and
Maximum power: 15.6 kW at 7,750 rpm

Regardless of the length and diameter of the connections, assume that the engine and exhaust is a matched system.
