I'm having issues with my shifting cables slipping. A lot.

Does that brass insert go above the cable, below it, or does it not matter?
I currently have the brass thingy under the cable, but wondering if it needs to be above it but can't find any info anywhere.

What's the idiot brigade think?

The little brass puck goes between the end of the tightening bolt and cable. Its job is to protect the cable from the bolt.

Thank you! Makes sense and I dunno why I didn't inquire long ago. Just been suffering with slipping cables for the past year!
