I cannot find for the life of me a float and needle specifically for the SHBC L 20mm carb; ive gone on del orto europarts and even there nothing suggests their float is for the 20L. Ive ordered a float and needle, allegedly for the carb, turns up and its smaller than the original and the float needle is tiny in comparison. Ive soak tested my original float and im not aware of any damage to it, however i question the needle valve as the tip is showing wear. Ive tried putting a new needle on to the original float and the head on the needle is tiny and doesnt stay put in the float. The scoot runs, but when i turn the fuel tap off and back on again, im getting nothing, as if the float is remaining closed.

This morning, took carb off, blew out all the jets. Filter in carb was clean. Its had all new gaskets, made sure everything was tightened up. Set the slow run to two turns out. Placed back on to the manifold, tightened up. Fuel on, started 2nd kick. Turned off scoot. Starts again, no issues at all. Continued this cycle 3 or 4 times, all good. Turn the fuel tap off (which is brand new) and turned on again, nothing. Checked plug, all fine, not soaked and wet. Checked spark against engine case all good. I can only think there is some issue going on with the float, any clues and if so could i get away with a 19mm float and matching float needle, how much do the bodies of these carbs differ as the float chamber cover (plastic) looks same as the 19mm SHBC.
