We're off to the New Orleans Crescent City Crawl in a couple of weeks, towing our scoots behind our VW camper. We intend to dip into the Ozark St Francis National Forest on our way - does anyone know of good riding routes while we're in there? Sure, we can wing it as usual, but it'd be great to have some recommendations.

Every road in the forest looks fun, on Google maps.

A majority of the Day 6 route for Cannonball is in Northern AR, so not real close to that park.

A cursory glance at the maps shows that most of the roads inside the park are gravel and dirt.

The Pig Trail is famous around here. If you get a chance, visit Eureka Springs. It was a big gangster hangout during prohibition.

Absolutely. Eureka Springs is a must. You may want to approach it from the north because that's where the twisties are down the mountains. There is also a few tourist attractions in Palm Eureka Springs like the Frank Lloyd Wright chapel and a lot more. Just look it up. The Ozarks is an absolute paradise for riding scooters. I've done it a couple times and I never regretted it. They also have great bed and breakfast places. I was never disappointed. They really cater to tourists. And all sorts of tourists. But you will get bored after one day. It's a very small provincial place.

Awesome! I'm heading down to the Crescent City Crawl as well now that I'm back in Louisiana! Can't help with any riding routes but excited to see some west coasters down in NOLA. Jimc I met you a few times at Quitters meetings and a few three peaks challenges I'm pretty sure. Will be good to see you again as well as have some serious fun in the bayou....

Thanks for all the hints and tips - we now have a plan. We'll stay in the area for several days, and may well take our inflatable kayak to explore some lakes as well.
