a very positive person, but you can get depressed after an

down and sorry for myself due to the lack of mobility.

So, all this talk has been a good lift for me.

Get well, ride well.

You bring back memories with that boot, Bob. Did you try out a knee scooter yet? Mine was sure good for morale..though you have to have space to maneuver.

Yeah, I think pretty easy to get down....its always a blow to your sense of invincibility, crutches, boots, etc are a PITA and we wind up taking advice from our partners (that, at least at the moment we can't ignore ). At least there's a light at the end of the tunnel....and summer is coming. Nerd emoticon

Fledermous,

Dave, thanks for your kind comments. Everyone at the office
is being so kind. They are bring files from the cabinets and
picking up documents from the copy machine so I do not
have to walk around as much.

Yes, Spring is coming and I hope to get out of the boot by
riding season. There is some pain from walking with the boot.
Like you, I am fortunate to have a good Chiro doctor in our
building. He is doing a super job with his good work helping.

You guys do an amazing job. Note, he fixed my the sciatica
radiating down my left leg for years in one visit and recommendations
for exercise. Again, your profession truly does relieve pain.

Max, every hip dn circumstance is different between people but Ms Miguel had a full hip replacement about 12 weeks ago. today, I did a 3 mile walk with her to for have lunch. She is walking normally and fast than she has in recent memory. I hope your's heals as fast.

The hip broken and with screws is, of course a far different senario than a regular THR. Mine were osteo related, the more common reason.
I had my left done in 2015 & right in 2017, both were anterior/frontal entry surgeries. The THR routine form y hip & knee doc is that you walk down the hall and climb up and down stairs on day of THR. If your's is done early, you leave that day. The PT is very easy for a anterior but takes about twice as long done posteriorly. The difference is the large butt muscles dont get cut with the anterior. At this point I barely know I have them and have moved on too my bad knees as my latest old fart issue. On on my 16th steroid shot in a month bad knee, good one gets the 4th shot same day.

Wow thanks. I wouldn't be able to have put it any better. My first surgery was to fix my knee stitch it up and no fractures were found and to put me in traction after an external fixation of my head.

The second surgery happened the day after and it was a hip reconstruction. In the x-ray you can see the two plates and four screws. That surgery was the 3-month no weight-bearing surgery which turned out to be unsuccessful despite all my efforts.

The third surgery was a total hip replacement. And yes I was walking the very next day and bearing weight without problems.

So pretty much everything you said makes sense to me because I been through it all.

So tomorrow morning is the day. I have a consult with my (Almighty I'm not worthy) orthopedic surgeon. Anxiety is running high and I'm trying not to act like a princeza delicada or a princeza dolorosa. It's NOT working. Crying or Very sad emoticon

I hope he doesn't put his hands full of fingers up my crotch and ask me if it hurts. Wha? emoticon

It looks like I'm going to have a total hip replacement on the left. Those people are so nice and my doctor is such a peach. It wasn't hard for me to reach the decision to have surgery. It's not going to heal itself and it's only going to get worse and eventually I'm going to have a spontaneous fracture and I'm going to be in extremely severe pain. If not now then when? I want to take care of it ASAP. The results of the MRI were ominous the necrosis is pretty well developed. A bone graft would not fix it. So it's preferable to go for the total hip replacement. I just hope it said like piaggio on the titanium

Thanks to everyone who responded with words of encouragement and similar experiences. It's really nice to get it off my chest. Now it's going to be the same of the same, just another hip.

I am just going to let the thread scroll down to Infinity. I just wanted you to know that your words were encouraging and appreciated.

Cheers

Max
