Crying or Very sad emoticon Hey guys, Crying or Very sad emoticon

my dream was Vespa and I had Vespa. But I had 2 accidents that damaged the Vespa a lot. Now I need to somehow recover it, but i know i cant afford that.

If I take it to a craftsman, I know it will cost me a lot, and I really don't have that much money. Also, the craftsman tells me he can't start repairing until the iron is straightened, painted, and then disassembled. He needs to break it to do it.

I attached video and this is my Vespa now Facepalm emoticon Please, tell me, how can I repair it with minimum cost? :'( Do i really need to straighten the iron, paint it and then tear it down for fix?

What model Vespa is it? Does it still run and is it rideable. I love Vespas, but they can be VERY expensive to fix, especially for bodywork, which on a Vespa is done pretty much the same as on a car. Depending on how much it was worth before the damage, it could cost more than it's worth to restore it to its original condition.

I just realized your Vespa is a Vespa SXL 125cc. I'm assuming you are in the COUNTRY of Georgia. Unfortunately I have no idea how things are done there.

I tried to attach the video of condition and attached, but can't find on forum now. Engine is starting and Scooter can move. The problem is The steering wheel which is bent. When the steering wheel is facing forward, the front wheel is on the left.

I really don't care about old condition. I just want to repair it so i can move through the city with Vespa again.

I'm still trying to upload the video, and it doesn't uploads. If you're interested tell me where to send it and I'll send it to you.

Wow, that is a lot of damage. So much damage that a new frame might be cheaper than trying to fix that one. Were you riding it when that happened? I hope you were not injured. Wait and see what someone else says.

I don't know about repair costs labor wise where you're at, but stateside that would immediately be a total.

The frame is likely bent and that's a very involved and precise thing to repair correctly.

Personally, I'd be looking at trying to find another bike and get what you can for the good parts left on this one.

If your frame is compromised, fixing the wheel will be a waste of time and money. You'll literally be riding a death trap.

You may be able to realign the handlebars by clamping the wheel to hold it in position while forcing the handlebars back into line. Just like addressing the same issue in a bicycle. But, as others say, it looks like the metal body is badly damaged and likely bent out of alignment. If that is so, the scooter would be dangerous to ride without a major reconstruction or replacement of the frame. Probably time to look for a good buy on a used scooter - likely would cost less.

You looking to fix it to ride it as a mess or fix it to be good looking? If your going to fix it correctly it will cost much more than getting another scooter. Your frame might be bent and to ride it without the metal work being fixed would be dangerous. I would recommend another scooter. Is this the 2nd accident? If it is not fixed properly then your could get hurt bad on metal work that is not repaired safely.

The pictures look terrible. Hopefully nothing serious has happened to you or anyone else.

The unique selling point of a Vespa is the self-supporting sheet steel body. That is, unlike all scooters, which have a fairing (usually plastic) over a steel frame. The disadvantage of a Vespa is therefore unfortunately that in the event of damage to a self-supporting body relatively quickly a (economic) total loss. With the damage visible in the pictures is pretty sure the stability of the body, the angle / tilt of the steering column (perhaps the steering column itself is crooked) and perhaps other hidden damage to the wiring harness / electrics to suspect.

Since it's obviously not a collectible example, every dollar is wasted here, especially since you can't/won't wrench yourself either. I strongly advise you not to do a half-hearted repair, not only because it would be a waste of money but also because the safety of a compressed frame is no longer what it should be.

Sorry, but sometimes the truth is painful...

Your best and probably cheapest option is to find another Vespa with a blown engine but good frame then transplant your running engine into it. That frame is so badly damaged it may not even be repairable enough to ride safely.

You might be able to sell it as a parts-bike. You'll probably get more money if you pull it apart yourself and sell everything piece by piece, but that takes a lot of extra time, most people don't bother, and you might not be able to get rid of all of it. It's possible, but it's far easier to sell it all at once for whatever someone will offer.
