My key has stuck in the ignition - in the 'ON' position.

I tried removing it through many ways and the fob part has broken from the key now.

To stop the bike I had to use the kill switch then disconnect the battery.

Now when I try to start it to take it to the garage, it wont start and the 'CODE' light is lit......

Any ideas how to get the key out or just start it to get it to the garage for repair.......

I tried taking the bike to bits today to get the ignition out, but gave up after removing 30 or so screws and being no closer to the starter

Did the key break off in the ignition slot? Or is the key intact but just really really stuck in the key slot.

Looking at the parts diagram for the 2018 series MP3 it looks like there is allot of plastic paneling that would have to be removed to fully access the mechanism.

Unless someone has a really good way of non-destructively removing a key, you may want to have it towed to a dealer or certified shop. That thing can get really expensive fast if the issue is not resolved with care.

Did you try taping the fob part over the ignition barrel, then re-connecting the battery? I would have thought that should work to get it turning on without drama, enough to get it to your dealer at least.

Otherwise IIRC it's a complete removal of the front plastics, in order to get to the retaining pin/clips for the ignition barrel - which would have to be replaced. I'm assuming you still have the master key, so you can swap RFID chips with the new key set's master, and then re-program the ECU to the new service key.
