I ordered a 65 tooth primary drive to put in the VBA but it does not look like it will work.

The 67t from the VBA has truncated "points" that mesh with the gear stack and the new one has pointy "point".

Any advice other than that I have a nice paperweight?

That's a P/PX series cog. I think only DRT makes one for the older boxes…

You bought the wrong stuff. you need a 65T primary that fits vn1-vnb.

Welcome to the paperweight club!

I've got this 63 tooth paperweight. If you can make it work I can send it for $0 + shipping.

You mean there's a paperweight *club*? Let me know where to send my membership application. Just no dues, because I spent all my money on paperweights.

the only thing worse than a paperweight is paying more for shipping than the paperweight itself.

which inevitably means you wind up buying the expensive one you initially didn't want to, paying that shipping again and wind up waiting those two additional weeks for some silly little do-dad.

I need to count mt gear teeth and figure out my drive ratios I have a 4 speed box, but I don't know what the gears are. I don't know if a 63T primary drive will be too tall for the hills of Seattle. I also have an offer for a 65T.

I may turn my 65T into a Flavor Flav inspired scooter neckace.

And this is why changing gearing makes me nervous. I've purchased a DRT clutch gear and it didn't fit - too large.

But the next time I open up the VNB2, I may try to change gearing since changing the 7spring clutch teeth didn't work...

And If I start ordering, I may end up with a gear mobile hanging in the back yard! Razz emoticon
