Now I have been having a bit of problems with the plug to use and I think I might have burnt out a couple of CDI unit because I use a none resistor plug ! These china made CDI unit are quite expensive to boot how do I change out this type for a much lower cost one that will work on the 2015 PX Vespa ? Any advice most welcome ✊ best foot forward soulboy74 🏴

Read through this article there are several parts but it does go into changing CDI. |

Not many options for the crappy Kokusan ignition. Even the unrestricted Zeus CDI is pricey and fails quite often. Your best option is to do a full Ducati ignition retrofit. Pricey once…

If left alone, these ignition systems don't cause any problems IMHO. Some people buy the expensive Zeus to overcome the claimed rev limiter, but I've never noticed it, and that includes when I had a BGM177 plus 24/24 and other go faster bits on my 2012 PX150. It was upgeared with a 23T clutch, so maybe that helped avoid the limit. Still using the ignition today with a resistor cap and non-resistor B8 plug.

Have you got a vespa PX genuine Ducati CDI. Link below, other suppliers available.
Are you running a 7 heat grade plug? If not, do so. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/225135693580?chn=ps&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=710-134428-41853-0&mkcid=2&mkscid=101&itemid=225135693580&targetid=1814673647982&device=c&mktype=pla&googleloc=9045820&poi=&campaignid=19089547614&mkgroupid=142438599285&rlsatarget=pla-1814673647982&abcId=9303859&merchantid=110501400&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIh93L9vLG_QIVhd_tCh2peQCbEAQYCCABEgKM0vD_BwE |

Most won't notice or care about the 7000 limit. Depends how you like to ride. Is your PX a standard 125 or 150, or have you kitted/tuned it?
Regarding the plug, a 7 is the goto for around town and the R is best if you still have the original non-resistor cap, simply because that's what the factory intended. I changed to an NGK resistor cap a long time ago, and have been using a non-resistor plug, to be consistent across all my Vespas, as I buy plugs in bulk. I've never had any CDI issues with my 2012 PX. |

You won't hit 7000 rpm on a 125. The road 2.0 will peak about 6200 rpm on my 177 . Polini box peaked at about 5500 rpm which is why I ditched it ; good Torque and super local roads for zipping about but lack of rpm left me 6mph gps top end down .

Thanks guys you have gave me a lot to think about !! And I am riding a standard PX 125 with just the cat part removed and air filter drilling modifications the scooter is okay with that setup ! I am using the RL 82c with the fork contact to plug and the rubber cap! When I tryed out the just L82C work's but Hay it'seems ruf ! I guess I should of changed out the plug cap as well 👍 still a learning curve !! I have a sip 2 to put on but Hay l was told that it's pointless with a standard set up !! Okay I will give it a try though !! Best regards soulboy74 🏴
