For those BGM curious for LML cases-

The cylinder is nearly a match. I have TIG welded the cases for 100%.

Wow, that is close. So p and p would work well too.

i think 90% match.

if there is enough gasket surface for the p125x cases-

I have a p125x here, i will lay the gasket over the case.

I have 2 LML engines. The ports look larger than the p cases. They match up pretty well to the Polini kit I have too. Nice cases to build on once you upgrade the bearings. Not as nicely finished as the p cases, but nothing a little dressing wouldn't fix.

I'm no expert but I'd hit that rebuild sooner than later considering the possibility of damage.

The big end bearing cage on mine disintegrated and luckily stuck the engine but when I took it apart there were bits everywhere you'd expect to find them. Thankfully no damage.

Plus...look at this bit of kit. Absolutely gorgeous. Had to just look at it while I wait for a couple bits.

I wouldn't push your luck, mine spun a bearing in case half and ruined it.

The original crank on my 2008 Stella packed it in at 5k miles with a sudden hard seize rolling off the throttle at 60 mph. It was my first hard ride on a new to me scooter. Turned out to be one of the big end con rod bearings shed all the little balls from the cage. No other damage and the cylinder cleaned up with a light hone.

Thanks for the heads-up guys. It looks like this should happen sooner, rather than later.

I'll start planning....

No pics, but i had two different 05 Stellas. One crank lasted about 2800 miles the other one lasted closer to 2300.

This is nice to see. When I put my LML engine back into a bike, the PX150 top end should probably be replaced with a BGM, by the looks of it. Clap emoticon

Every time you post of a thread, it keeps reminding me that i have a low mile (2300) 100% stock 2005 PX150 engine sitting on my shelf. I was never exited about the old small block racing cylinders from 10~20 years ago, so i never paid them any notice whatsoever. But with the advent of the newer smallblock touring kits, i'm thinking i should strip the cases down and have you weld them up a bit. I have an 8" scooter in mind that could use a little bit of "motorvation". Basically i'm after a small block cylinder kit that will have the same power, torque level, cruising speed, top speed, and of course reliability as a stock P200...not a tuned 200, but just a stock 200.

Both VMC and BGM have absolutely raised the bar. both will spank a stock p200- and add to it gear availability and you get a great 55-60 mph cruiser with speeds into the high 70's without the feeling you are reving it to the moon and back. I don't like that feeling, certainly not for road riding.

The scoot that started my Vespa love affair is my P200, stock with a rebuild and Road 2, spent a lot of time getting jetting magic & she sings. I cannot wait to compare the Stella. The P will always have my heart but damn the BGM kit is pretty astounding.

I'd be glad to post some more detailed pics of the kit of anyone is interested. Waiting for a gear stack shim to finish the install.

I think the wealth of information in that link alone is a testament to the level of BGMs products.

I wouldn't recommend ordering anything from Beedspeed anyhow. You can't go wrong when ordering from SC or SIP.

i'm probably the odd-man out here. . . .but here goes-

i would recommend ordering from shops Stateside. you know, the type of shops that can help with installation directions and technical know-how. . . .and even help with any issues that may occur. as they say- loyalty gets loyalty.

Naah, I do everything I can to keep it close to home.

Well, maybe not everything because there are places closer to me but I really, really, REALLY, appreciate and like the Scooter Market, or ScooterMercato, so most of my money is spent there.

David and Matt have helped me out many times, and are cool dudes. I hope to shake their hands one of these days!

I don't think you're the odd man. I actually order all my stuff from my buddy/scooter mechanic up here in PDX. He usually paces orders from SIP or SC every week. I text him what i want on Monday afternoon, and he usually recieves the shipment from Germany by Thursday or Friday. Then i head over to his shop to pick the bits up either Friday afternoon or Monday afternoon.
