strange squeaking noise after water pump cover replacement

I replaced my water pump cover due to my oil being contaminated by the coolant on my 2014 GTS (20k km). I figured the water pump seals went and I spent a few hour with scooter west instructions carefully replacing the cover, gasket etc, flushing coolant, replacing oil etc. Now when the Vespa starts there is this squeaking noise from the water pump/exhaust area. The noise goes away when the Vespa gets warm. Any clues?

oil is normal now, coolant level is ok, scooter drives with no issues...

No I bought a new WP cover (PI8798315) and replaced the old part as a whole. with labour and specialist tools made economic sense.

odd, to be sure. have you put any miles/time on it? it may just be tight seals/bushing that's seating in.

I'd try and put a few miles on it while monitoring the situation closely. if it doesn't go away rapidly it's time to pull it all back apart.
