I'm looking to get a windscreen wide enough to cover the handlebars to protect from the cold but looking at a medium or small sized one similar to this:
https://www.sip-scootershop.com/en/product/wind-shield-piaggio_PI675048?cr=e993ab67-6807-4109-bbed-f6374ebf9f9b&gclid=CjwKCAiA3pugBhAwEiwAWFzwdXRWwadKsc77tvdLtQzQ9-EuY21TFwAYB0fgW6wUvOQuyJd8BkYr_hoC-n4QAvD_BwE
The reason why I don't want the tall one is that I heard it will reduce your top speed (having it on there) and I want to maintain the gts's top speed of 82 mph while at the same time protecting myself from wind buffeting and cold air. Maybe the wide windscreen I linked can fit the 2023 gts but according to the website it doesn't say so in the fitment list. Does anyone have any more knowledge on this and can point me in the right direction? Thanks

Correct, large wind shields cost a little top speed (because of wind resistance). Unfortunately, this has to do not only with the height but also with the width, that is, with the total area.

So you will have to live with a compromise.

Windshields of the earlier models do not fit on the facelift.

Correct.

Due to the new brake pumps, the shape of the handlebar cover has changed.

I.e. the screens of the pre-facelift does not fit on the 23er facelift and vice versa.

There are new part numbers for all types of screens

HIGH WINDSHIELD, clear (model pensioner ):
1B010117

MEDIUM WINDSHIELD, clear:
1B010112

FLYSCREEN, clear:
1B010107

FLYSCREEN, smoked:
1B010564

Have fun with your new Bella!

If the high one, which covers the complete handle is to high for you, you can cut it down a little bit.

If you want to avoid cold fingers: soon the original Vespa grip heater should be available...
"Hohes Windschild" = "High Windshield"

Does anyone on here have pictures of what a medium windshield looks like on their 2023 gts? I want to see if it adequately covers the grips/handlebars. I don't think I would be the best person to cut down the large windscreen. I feel like I would mess it up and it would end up uneven!

Ok I think I will wait for it to be released. Do you know when it will be available?

Sorry, no information. But all the online stores and my dealer have them on backorder from the beginning. On the screenshot of the German accessories catalog, you can also see that the middle one didn't even have a part number at the beginning (October 22).

Long ago I bought a similar screen for my 2015 300 Super. I lost 10 mph on the highway. That was unacceptable. I ditched it for a smaller screen and heated hand grips.

Our group has a very handy member who installed them after we bought them on line. The ones we all bought attach to our battery and turn on with a button. The grips have colors to indicate amount of heat. They are quite nice on chilly rides and look good.

Does the FACO twin screen fit that scoot? They are similar size to a medium and both are very popular.
I will say that the FACO once adjusted is about the same size as a medium for my head height.
I'd never choose the wide one based on increased wind effects. Wear proper gloves and you'll be fine w/o the w/s being wide.
Heated grips have been on all of my BMW MC's but they don't make your hands warm in really cold winter temps, they do remove chill off the grips. I wear winter specific riding gloves in very cold weather, htd grips or not.

Since Vespa changed the design of the handlebar cover (due to bigger break pumps) and a different form around the headlight the old screens doesn't fit the new Facelift GTS. Windshields from 3rd party manufacturers MAY fit. However, gap dimensions will then not be exact.

With the FACO Twin screens you adjust the HL gap when installing. Just saying..

Is known to me, but does not change the diameter of the cutout...

I have owned both a Faco twin screen and the Vespa mid-height screen for a pre-HPE GTS. While the twin screen can certainly be adjusted to the same height as the Vespa mid-height screen, it was neither as wide nor provided as much protection for the riders hands as the Vespa screen. Now, whether the as yet unavailable Vespa mid-height for the HPE models will do the same remains to be seen.

Faco twin will not. I have the short windshield on my 2023. I thought about trying to install the top part on the short screen to raise the height. Holes don't line up with the supports.

I'm not a fan of the Faco twin screen as. Adjusted to its highest it is noisy as it directs the wind at my chin bar. Low down it provides no improvement to the flyscreen and the top sits closer to me. I find the medium works best for me. I wish it was available.

Have you considered hand guards with the shorter screen? These work well for me with the bonus of only adding them when I'm going to need them.

I had a situation similar to yours when trying out windscreens for my 2020 GTS. I've had all the OEM stuff on there: flyscreen, medium, and large. Each one was perfectly frustrating in some way to the point I removed it.
In the end, after reading a couple of threads on MV, I summoned my courage, got some masking tape and a dremel (first borrowed and then bought my own--not too expensive it turns out), and made exactly what I wanted: a cut-down tall windscreen that covers the hands and with a height a little below the medium. It's not the best to look at, but it's even and makes my rides feel great.
That's a long way to say: if you can't find what you want, don't be afraid to take a swing at it yourself. There are a lot of people around here who go the do-it-yourself direction and learning to do these things can be fun in their own right.

I just received and installed the medium windshield (Piaggio part 1B010112) on my 2023 GTS. My dealer here in the U.S. didn't even have the part in their catalog yet, so I ordered it via eBay from a place in Italy (Ciclocar). Shipping took a week, and was only around $30. Installation was slightly fiddly —would have helped to have a second pair of hands. Make sure to raise the shield high enough to clear the leg shields at full lock. See the attached pictures. Apologies for the milk crate, I haven't figured out luggage yet. I'm 5' 9" and the wind clears my head with a couple of inches to spare.

Here is an OEM Vespa I bought with mine this week. It is a tall version for 2023 that has been cut down to 14" above the headlight by a custom shop, the dealer has contracted to do them until medium height is available. I am not sure if I can post the dealer here but you could PM me if desired, it is in Florida if it matters.

A relatively inexpensive ebay purchase. (N.B. Link to UK site)

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/354713743696?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=yttyw3krtvw&sssrc=2047675&ssuid=53ykzue9Ry2&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

I have to make minor adaptations to make them fit, namely a rubber washer between them and the bar end weight and I fix the 'floating' end with a cable tie to the mirror stem to pull it all tight and reduce vibration and flexing stresses on the plastic. Once on they are solid and work well.

Jmossfeld, when sitting on the bike can you see over the top of the medium screen or are you looking through it?
