I'm working on my Racing 60s Vespa and got behind the glove box panel. After I put it back together the glove box won't open with the key. It won't open period. Is there another way to open it? Through the horn cover?

Thanks for any help.

I am in same situation with my 2006 GT. After heated grips installation I put back the rear panel, and was not able to close the glovebox door. So I pushed hard on the panel and now it is stuck and not opening.
I found the opening latch and tried to push on it, but it is stuck and not moving. I suppose the opening latch was placed into incorrect position and once I pushed the doors it is stuck behind the opening spring. See the picture when the upper part of opening latch is visible, and try to move it to unlock the doors. If it is not stuck or blocked as mine doors, it should work. I suppose mechanism is same for both models.
For me it seems like the only way is to cut the doors and buy new ones...

I removed instrument panel for better view and I found, that while I closed the glove box panel by force, opening latch was pushed into incorrect way. Because opening stick is blocking the movement of the locking hook, pushing on pening latch makes no effect. When I try to move the hook, it is block by the latch. Now I am trying to find out how to remove the latch, but there is no space.
It seems like the best way is to drill the hole in the glove box panel in the location of the glove box screw, so I will be able to remove the screw through the hole. It should allow me to move the whole back panel tlightly to one side and unhook the opening mechanism.

Thanks Zeb_cz. Not quite ready to give up and drill just yet on mine. Thinking there has to be another way in. Good luck on your GT!

When you do get it open, maybe the prevention from it happening again upon assembly is the same as the GTS, the Vespa rubber band holding back the lever that hits the inner release (actually any rubber band)

Got it!!! GermanGTSDriver (Big THANKS!!!) sent me PM with advice to move the back panel as much as possible to the side, which gave me additional 2mm I needed. Than I pry both parts by long screw driver and doors were free!
Root cause was in loosen door hinge. I glued the screw into plastic, hope it helps.
