Hello all,

I am travelling around Southeast Asia with GT200, currently stuck in Cambodia with an Oil pressure sensor problem.

A bit of back history, I rode from Singapore and planned a servicing stop at the Authorised Vespa Workshop in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The oil change went awry resulting in my scooter requiring an engine overhaul.

After more than a month of waiting for parts for this overhaul, the mechanics put the scooter back together. However, the red oil sensor light keeps coming on.

They have checked the electronics. I also asked if they had put back the rubber o ring at the crankshaft. (attached photo) At first, they were unsure, but then, they said yes later. I am not sure if I can trust them, especially after they didn't tighten my oil cap in the first servicing which damaged the engine and found out that they did not have a feeler gauge when I wanted to check valve clearance.

Is there any way to check if it's there without splitting the cases?
What are the things I should check if the oil pressure light keeps coming on?

Hope to get some useful advice. Thank you so much

Welcome to The forum!

Did you check the oil sensor unit by the water pump? I was having the same troubles with my gt200. I changed the unit and the problem went away.

Thank you so much. The sensor was changed too.

Btw the way, they managed to find out the issue, the oil pump was not fitted well, resulting in the indicator light one.

I will be testing the scooter around Phnom Penh.
