Can someone help with this problem. I have come to remove my flywheel on my 150 sprint V VLB and when I've removed the nut there doesn't appear to be any internal thread for the puller. There is only a shallow ring cut out which looks similar the the groove that would house an internal circlip. I have considered drilling and tapping either side and make my own puller, but an I missing something simple?

You're reading the situation correctly. There should be a circlip seated into that groove that the flywheel nut will use to self-extract.

Sadly for you, Piaggio moved away from that design pretty quickly for the simple reason that it didn't work very well.

Also...what the heck happened to that poor flywheel? It should NOT look like that.

Not sure what happened to it, but the previous owners did something that also broke a number of fins. I'm not gonna lose any sleep over it as I'm changing it to an electronic ignition anyway, Sip most likely. Just need to get my head around the wiring change. Any advice is welcomed.

These two parts self extract the flywheel. And...damn, what happened with all the rivet looking things on your flywheel. Definitely not OEM.

If it doesn't readily come off I've had luck tensioning the circlip and coming back in the morning to find time and tension have done the trick.

It's bajaj or some variant of such. See the other posts, bike looks okay-ish but the motor is a little SEA.

It sure sounds bodgier the more posts that appear, but good photos would be great

Put nut back on.
Add circlip where red is.
Undo nut.

Ohh, then curse as it doesn't work

Didn't work and cursed a lot. Made a puller and removed it that way.
