My sparkplug bit the bullet, so I ordered a new one. I ordered a NGK LB05F like the one I had before. I also have a crap load of BR8ES plugs. After reading on here what cap to buy I came across that you should not be using a resistor plug and a resistor cap. I've been using both for a while now with a sip speedo with no issues.

Why is it not good to use both? It feels like a waste that I shouldn't be using the plugs that I already have as I couldn't find a non resistor cap.

What does your cap look like? I bought a NGK cap with a resistor, it came apart. Unscrewed removed resistor, replaced with a piece of metal. I buy resistor plugs because there easy to find locally.

Mine looks like this one.

I tried taking my broken one apart, but can't seem to do it without breaking it.

Local motorcycle shops and car shops are worthless. Car shops pretty much only sell accessories and the only bike shop is also a PC shop, so that should give you an idea what they would have. I ordered a bunch of BR8ES since I can't find them locally and I was going to do plug chops, but there is no stretch of land where I can do it.

I've been riding for the last past 4 years with both resistor cap and plug without issue, so I was just wondering what the bad part would be?
