China's march into the future of everything moved forward yesterday with the debut of an electric vehicle that can draw power from either on-board batteries or overhead wires, plus a demo of roads set up to handle such traffic.
Invented by Siemens in Germany in 1882. I know these things especially in countries of the former Sovjet union (also in East Germany). In the USA, I have already driven Seattle with it...
Hydrogen is the future. Electric just won't cut it IMO.
Hydrogen can be used to replace natural gas (for home boilers/furnaces). It can also be used to power electric vehicles (think Toyota Mirai). It can also be used to power combustion engines (already in development and preferred as an alternative to diesel in heavy machinery).
Either that, or synthetic dinosaur juice. Another good option.
Regardless of what prevails, the whole 'switch' to alternative energy sources to power vehicles will cost a lot of time, natural resource, and if we're not careful it'll produce produce a lot of waste. 🤞
