Hi

I did an oil change on my GTS back in November. I have not really ridden it much since then, due to various reasons. After a while if the GTS just standing, I did notice a bit of an oil stain forming under the right side leg of the centre stand. So I gave it a wash a couple of weeks agh, and made sure all was clear. I thought maybe during the oil change some oil got splashed or deposited around the centre stand.

But looking at it again today the oil is now appearing down the centre stand again.
The bike has not been run, and around the oil drain plug and the oil filter is dry, no oil around there.. The oil seems to be running down from the rear of the engine, in front of the rear wheel, please see photo. The oil is mainly concentrated around the circled area.

Any idea where this may be coming from? I did a valve clearance check, and replaced the rubber gasket up there about 3 years ago.

Could it be another / head gasket?

What is the highest point from the ground that shows signs of oil?

Did you use a torque wrench when you did the oil change?

the oil will be concentrated there because it will trickle to the lowest point.

clean higher and as adri says, what's the highest point with oil?

also lift the pet carrier and look from above. using a torch might help the shine of the oil be more distinct?

Check higher up on the right side, look for the oil pressure sensor,
my oil pressure sensor was leaking at the electrical connection on my 2018 GTS, easy fix, had to buy a thin walled (17mm I think),
no draining of oil was necessary but put it on the side stand/leaning left just incase.

And for anyone not familiar with the different terms used in parts other than the USA. A "torch" refers to a light (trouble light, or flash light) not a heat source used to cut metal or solder copper tubing! Or for that matter chase monsters out of the village at night!

Has the scooter been run recently? If not, there shouldn't be any oil near the top of the engine, it should be in the crankcase. Minor oil leaks can pe a PITA to find, especially if they are not out in the open. You can clean the oil off the outside of the engine, then put some dye in the oil. Then check it with a blacklight. Any oil that has leaked out of the engine will show up bright green.

I'm having the same problem of an oil leak it seems but coming from my vespa sprint 150. I have it currently parked outside since my gts is in the garage & I just started noticing some spots on the ground where I am parked at. I will let AF1 racing know to hopefully check for where it is coming from and hopefully fix it when I send it in for the service to replace the rear tire on April 1st. fingers crossed.
