Hi All

I am a new member and finally have time to start a moth balled project to finish building my 1957 all state.

Is is possible to change the primary drive gear to gain some more top end speed and reduce RPM on the engine. SIP scooter appear to have available an option to carry out this modification. Has anyone carried this out / thoughts?

Hi, Yes and no. Can you, yes? Considering 5hp and 3 speeds, not sure the change will produce a lot of benefit. Maybe others can chime in?

you would want to at least run a Pinasco 160 or CC Corsa 160 to take advantage of the different gearing. That also takes running a 57mm crank and you better change the clutch as well. To actually build this engine right takes a large investment as well as knowledge . . . .kudos to you for going down this road.
