As above my fuel gauge isn't working......
I've opened the fuel tank to see if the float is broken or stuck but seems to be moving freely is there anything else I could check before buying new parts to get working.
Again thanks in advance Alex.

Could be battery, wiring, float assembly, plug into the top of the float assembly or speedometer.
Start with a good battery and fuse and see if the needle moves. If your gas level is low enough, find a coat hanger and make an L shaped hook so you can lift the float. Hold it at a different level and see if that does anything on the speedometer.
If no, probably easiest to replace the fuel tank float, speedometer you'll just have to swap with a new one.

I've put new battery on ill try the new fuse and I've also moved the float to different position and nothing moved on fuel gauge 🤔🤔👍

Float setup in tank uses a change in resistance to measure fuel level. It's been a few years for me but you should be able to remove a wire from under plastic cover on gas tank connect a meter and watch resistance change if it's working electrically.

Think you will find its a component in the headset, dont ask me the name of what its called but its quite a common thing when they stop working. From my experience when the float/gubbings in tank starts playing up the fuel dial in headset starts to flick about. You are saying you are not getting amber low fuel light and no fuel dial working at all, if so this points to the headset gubbins IMO.

Have you popped the headset cover off and ensured the ribbon cables are seated and clean ? I assume an lml will be similar to px. If the float wasn't working or for some reason it wasn't electrically connected right from tank you would get permanent amber low warning light . You're not getting that far so just check the headset end. I'm not even sure you can fix headset end other than check electrics attached. I seem to think you have to buy a new Speedo unit. Somebody might correct me but sure this is the case as it's sealed unit. Some of the earlier lmls had really shitty wiring . Push your Speedo cable up from front wheel when you remove the four headset cover screws to give you slack and more movement then you can disconnect the Speedo drive from Speedo and check the electrics seated ok. It's a ribbon type cable so maybe squirt with switch cleaner in case it's crapped up. I assume your Speedo light is working etc?

I'll certainly try all that when I get chance before I start to buy new bits all other lights on speedo work ie when lights are on and indicators are blinking etc...... The fuel gauge itself is stuck at about quarter of a tank so not sure the Amber light would be on as not showing that low 🤔🤔.
Really appreciate all ya help pal cheers 👍

Pop the Speedo out, clean with some switch cleaner the connector and give it a good old tap on the underside with wooden end of screwdriver, clutching at straws with the tapping but who knows it might simply be stuck ? Halfords sell switch cleaner for about a fiver or go to wickes , b and q. Don't overtighten the headset cover on reassembly as they can break.

If it's the same as on the PXs, the sender / gauge run on AC so the engine needs to be running...

Maybe the screw driver whack will work, sounds like it's just stuck as needle should fall to 0 when ignition off
