I was test mounting the GoPro 11 on my helmet ...

I was using some crap double sided tape instead of the stronger stuff that the mount came with. Had to wait for a break in the traffic while praying it wouldn't get run over (there was lots several seconds behind me).

That sort of clip usually ends much worse for the rider.

This was a much better outcome!

PS although the lens cover came off it was easy to put back on. Camera happy

Ah, this brings back some old trauma....on a group ride some years ago, I varied the usual camera mount from a suction mount on the front cowl to top of the topcase for a rearward view. Seemed like it should work.

Well, it didn't and even though I had a tether, it was too long and the camera merrily bounced between the wheel and pavement until someone managed to alert me.

It's still in a box waiting for a rebuild.

So really it's 'adhesive fail.' Seems like the GoPro performed above and beyond.

Your video makes me want get one sooner than later.

It would have been amazing if the camera was pointing at you from the middle of the road as you waited anxiously in your helmet for the traffic to clear on the shoulder.. and then captured you playing frogger to retrieve it.

I'm camera shy so if there was footage I probably wouldn't have posted that bit

I had to play Frogger twice as after first retrieval I saw that the lens cover was missing so had to spot that and go again
