What is involved with a P200 or PX200 swap to Sprint frame? I hear its a drop in replacement but then I hear about a rear shock adaptor. Does the swingarm fit right to the Sprint?

As I look at nearly every vintage Vespa engine they look somewhat alike so it seems they could fit onto any Vespa frame.

Ideally I'd like to modify nothing but is there stuff I gotta do to get a P or PX 200 engine in my bike?

It's a drop in.

The "shock adapter" is actually a shock spacer, between the top of the shock and mount. They come in different sizes and are widely available.

You'll need one to set the ride height.

Also get a conversion kick lever because the P one on vintage bikes looks like ass.

great. Which brings me to the other question, is the Malossi VR or V one a drop in? Because those are based upon a P200 or PX case?

This is my prospective build but would like to know to start planning.

The outside dimensions of P200 cases are the same as 150 cases. They're basically just milled a little differently to accommodate the bigger cylinder and larger crank.

yeah that'll fit fine. if you're adding a reed you may need some "adjustment" where the block and cage are close to the body, but unless the mounting point is somehow compromised it's a direct swap.

There might be some more sheetmetal "adjustment" if you install a PX2 case AND want to keep the E start motor. It's a non issue with a P case (since they never had an E start).

I have a P200 motor in my SprintV right now. So long as you can match up the electrical, It works perfectly.

I currently have a P200 engine in my PK50 smallframe, VNA Allstate largeframe and a VB1 Wideframe. You got this.
