It should go without saying, but I'm gonna say it. This thread is all about AmeriVespa and making amazing plans/pals, not for complaining or airing grievances.

My target date for my personal adventure is May 15th….leaving from Cleveland Ohio… I wanna take my time and enjoy the ride… I'm looking forward to see some friends I've met recently and some new friends …I can't wait I'm not Trailering … I'm riding

Kudos for doing it the right way. It was so very tempting, but after pulling the plug on attending (finalized by out-of-country guests), I'll just have to do it vicariously.

I can't wait… just got a bunch of stuff in the mail from scooter west for routine maintenance.. those guys are very nice and very fast with shipping

I'm planning on riding down from San Francisco. Probably doing the trip there solo but I think it might be fun to connect with others for a group ride for the trip home.

Currently planning to take 1 down to LA and then swing east over to Flagstaff, not sure about the way home, could be the same or different.

When I leave I'm planning going to LA to the 1 but going south to San Diego

Let's talk in Flagstaff.

I've got a friend living in LA, so it's also a pit stop for me.

A lovely drive as long as Devil's Slide stays open. Nearly the whole length of the 1 is beautiful!

Note that Caltrans is currently repairing multiple landslides and highway 1 between Monterey and SLO is impassible (https://www.latimes.com/travel/story/2023-04-13/big-sur-highway-1-closed).

IMHO, the 101 detour from Salinas isn't too bad, but with a little work one might find some more enjoyable roads through the valley. Perhaps someone from that area has suggestions?

Let's ride to Amerivespa! Our route plans for gas and food stops, and if you're trailering convoy with us! Please arrive with a healthy scooter, a full tank, and don't forget the drinks & snacks. Dixie will take you up the Beeline Hwy, with a quick lunch in Payson, then along Lake Mary Rd, and into Flagstaff. We can't wait to see you!

Making the trip hauling a scooter to Flagstaff. Advice for nice rides through Monterey County includes taking River Rd parallel to 101 for wine tasting or Arroyo Seco if you're up for twistys and checking out the beautiful Carmel Valley. Then you go through Monterey, Santa Cruz, Hwy 17 or 1 on home.

Excited to see this thread! We'll be joining in on the fun this year, coming from Houston. We're planning to sit down this evening & prioritize some of the group rides & checking out the info on the Amerivespa site. It seems it has changed a bit since the last I looked with a bit more info.

Same here! We've ridden the Grand Canyon, Mormon Lake, Jerome (Mingus Mt.), and the Slide Rock area. Sedona, Snowbowl, and Lowell are on the must-do list for us.

We've also started preparing the scoots this week by getting new tires and their 12 & 15k services.

Trailering Needed PHX to Flag & Back

We have a club member who is going to be riding his GTS up to Flag and had a trailer lined up for his '71 small frame. The trailer fell through and he's looking for another ride for "Lorenzo".
