Judging by the bin behind, it was parked on a pavement and the river flooded! Definitely a shame to see!

Just "Floods at high high tide" should suffice - as they do in Richmond-upon-Thames (UK). If you can't be arsed to check the tide tables then you deserve it. The tidal level there can change by over 24ft if the tidal lock just downstream is out of service.

24 feet wow. I don't know places in the U.S. where one visually notices the big change between low and high tide, though I haven't travelled much to have observed either .

You live in one! 8-9.5 feet (vertical distance) between high and low tides around NYC, which can translate to 100' or more of shoreline distance. Most of NYC has been contained by seawalls, so the shoreline doesn't move, but the changing distance from the edge of the seawall to the water is certainly noticeable with the tide. This is why when there is a "storm surge" during a hurricane, and the ocean goes over the seawalls, that parts of NYC get so messed up.

Most of the east coast of the US and Canada have very noticeable tides. The Bay of Fundy in Canada has unbelievably extreme tides, over 50' - and is well worth the trip to see.

Boats with twin keels are quite popular around Britain as we have some of the largest tidal ranges in the world, and this allows boats to stay level if the water level drops too much.

Bristol (on the West coast of Britain) has a tidal range of 45 feet!

cause much flooding

So, park your scooters/cars well on high ground if you see it
coming amigos.

Here in the USA, homes are not covered for flood unless you are
in an actual flood zone and buy the separate Federal Flood
Insurance.

Cars/Scooter/Motorcycles are covered for flood because you can
move them out of harms way. If you don't move them they
are still covered - its called stupid insurance.

Ah the rare and coveted Vespa "Venice" model. Carves up the canals like nobody's business. You should see the Vespa "Pisa" model, has a persistent lean to the right.....or left depending on your perspective.

I looked hard at the "Venice" model but ended up with the "Sicilian Special" after the dealer made me an offer I couldn't refuse.
