Both surfaces are straight and clean. No leaks at the studs. Looks like maybe the pipe needs a copper donut type crush gasket, but I can't find any that fit. What are you guys using? The flange-to-exhaust uses an almost spongy metallic foam gasket. That thing is awesome and if you can get some of that material, I suspect it'll solve your problem nicely.
