To turn my key in the barrel it feels like the key will snap (it hasnt in 4yrs)

Will a new barrel solve this issue? as never had a barrel feel this hard when turning key to on position

Its been like it since i got her but now i want to sort her as it should be smooth and easy to turn

Had the same on a brand new Vespa. Try a quick spray of WD40 or silicone grease if you have it - ideally one with a straw that you can put right into the barrel. Only a couple of very quick sprays, then put the key in and turn it back and forth a few times.

WD40 will attract dirt and grime inside the lock. Do the above with some electrical contact cleaner then hit it with a little dry lock lube.
