Two attacks discussed here, The Relay attack (which I've previously linked about it here) would probably be possible with a GTS 2023. Where as I have no real idea about the Injection hack on a 2023 as I don't yet know enough about Piaggio's version of their keyless system. Love them both as I have a background in computer security

https://arstechnica.com/information-technology/2023/04/crooks-are-stealing-cars-using-previously-unknown-keyless-can-injection-attacks/

and a handy quote

"Now that people know how a relay attack works… car owners keep their keys in a metal box (blocking the radio message from the car) and some car makers now supply keys that go to sleep if motionless for a few minutes (and so won't receive the radio message from the car),"

The Vespa key can be turned off. No need for a metal box.

I have a car with a keyless system since a couple of months and I still check every morning if it's still on the driveway... it's very handy but very scary too.

One of the dumber things I did last year was come home to get something out of the shed and then drive off with the car keys still in the shed door. Took about 6km to figure out that the blinking key light on the dash was related to my empty pocket.

could you imagine doing that at the start of a road trip and not noticing the light?

In my retirement job we often take freshly groomed cars to clients. The groomers leave the key fobs on the wiper scuttle area so they aren't accidentally locked inside. Apparently they will slide off going around a corner, and the lucky guy who had this happen managed to retrieve the keys undamaged from lying on the road. And, no, it wasn't me.

After authentication and engine start-up, after about 50 meters running, the presence of the remote control is checked; if the user no longer carries the remote control, this will be indicated by flashing of the IMMOBILIZER light on the instrument cluster.

However, this does not affect the operation of the vehicle.

Then, once the vehicle is stopped, by turning the starter switch to "OFF" position, the IMMOBILIZER indicator light and the turn indicators will flash for 20 seconds indicating that the remote control is lost.

CAUTION

WHEN THE IMMOBILIZER INDICATOR LIGHT AND THE TURN INDICATORS FLASH, IT WILL BE POSSIBLE TO TURN THE STARTER SWITCH AGAIN TO "ON" FOR THE LAST TIME.
