Quick question for any Minnesota folks. I'm planning on riding up from the Kansas City area over a couple days to attend this ride in August. It'll be my first time and it looks like a lot of fun. I always stick to two lane county roads and the hillier or closer to water the better. I notice on the map the Minnesota River Scenic Byway. Looks dope on google earth, how is it to ride? I'm also looking for other scenic roads between Minneapolis and KC, which is basically straight south. Nothing against endless hours driving through cornfields because that's a lot of what we have around here, but there's always some cool place to stop and cool off or some entertaining scenery. Would be happy for any ideas of thoughts thrown my way. Thanks!

The Minnesota River Valley Byway between Le Sueur and Chaska is a great ride, very popular with bikers. I don't go all the way to Mankato very often so I won't say much about Mankato to Le Sueur. Hwy 169 is four-lane and fast but it's a good road to take if you're short on time. The Byway is prone to flooding in the spring. Shouldn't be a problem in August but you might want to check road reports (511mn.org) before you go if there have been lots of rain or thunderstorms.

There's not much to see in Iowa off of I-35. It would be out of your way, but if you could go over to the Mississippi that's another wonderful ride.

We'll look forward to seeing you at 10,000 Scoots!

Wait! You're gonna ride your Typhoon? The Byway's still okay, but definitely stay off 169. Take back roads across Iowa. Ride safe & have fun!

I couldn't find a vespa i wanted around here so for the interim i got a 2021 kymco people back in February for super cheap. its a 150 but it'll bop along all day at 55-60. I've put about 2300 miles on it and think a multi day road would be no probs, except for the butt-punishing seat. It's likely the trip will be made on a newer vespa, I just need to clear out some room in the garage and find the right bike. I've figured out I like riding way more than tinkering, so the old stuff has to go. You really can't beat fuel injection and ABS. Anyway thanks for the info, planning is half the fun.
