I am having random intermittent starting issues. Thought it might be damp getting in starter switch, changed that. Checked battery terminals, all good. Battery has charge, as when it decides to ,it starts easily. Both brake switches working ok. Also changed starter relay. Blue key gets one flash of immobilizer light when turned, brown key one long flash, two short flashes. Starting ok today, but can't trust it. Any other ideas or suggestions would be greatly received.🤔😬

Not knowing how old my battery is, first thing I will do if my 2018 GTS ever gives me electrical issues is replace the battery with new OE or equivalent then go from there.

These 🛵 as well as a lot of ECU ran cars are really fickle about⚡️
New batteries seem to fix a lot of ailments.

1. does it actually start with both? (when in a good mood)
2. after the flashes does the light stay on or off?

might be that the immobiliser aerial is dying.

frankly I'd be focusing on this issue of the different flashes, not other things like switches and relays

I had a similar situation and based on the wise folks on the forum I went about step by step testing and or changing things. Yet it did not solve the problem I had. In my case the engine wouldn't even turn. Everything that one should checkout fine turned out to be fine i.e. starter relay, brake light switches, starter switch, battery, fuses. In my case initially the fact that the throttle wasn't going back to zero( heated grips) was thought to be the cause, but then it turned out that the immobilizer antenna was kaput.
The key's when you insert and the flashes etc you see are they consistent. If not most likely it has gone bad. The part is expensive and there isn't a way to repair it.
Check the flashes with the blue key, see if it is consistent i.e. turn it on and off at different times.
You may have the same problem I had.

Thanks for responses. Starting ok with both keys at the moment, just reluctant to go any distance in case it plays up again. If I knew it was the immobilizer I would replace, but can't be sure.🤔🤔

Some auto parts stores will load test a battery for free if you bring the battery in. They might even bring the tester out to your scooter if you ask nicely. Worth a try for free other than your time.
