For those with more knowledge of this weird scoot;VooDoo, Safis, Greasy,...

Is the area under the tank on these models similar to a standard PK? Would an engine swap of a standard 4 speed model into this frame be possible?
I am aware the headset would have to be changed as the automatica left grip does not turn. I also noticed the gas tank runs the whole length of the seat.

Or, is the 'juice' not worth the 'squeeze'...?

Just curious. Thanks.

From what ive read, the frame is different and a lot wider where engine bolts in. I've got a vague feeling that a px engine would be easier to fit than a smallframe engine.

Some 411 here:

Vespa PK50 Plurimatic

Also looked at the parts diagram and it *seems* like the frame is vastly different than other small frames.

No. No worth. Needs a lot of modifying.
You also need to make mounting place for brake pedal.

Ah, the famous "Problematic" ROFL emoticon ROFL emoticon

No, nothing fits, no foot brake as said, different mounts, different carb position, etc. etc. etc.

So, yeah, the 'juice' not worth the 'squeeze'…

Thank you for all this great information!! Now I know how vastly different the 'Problematic' (SaFis, lol) is from the shifty Vespa. I did not think about the rear brake pedal!! Good point.

Thank you for all your help, Matchless, BN, Roland, and SaFis.
Cheers.

I still see parts for these coming up in the UK and in europe, including whole NOS engines. If it were a 125 it might be worth fixing up but a 50, just hopeless. The LML 125 automatic Lite, you can still see these on sale in the UK brand new for £1600.00. They came out very shortly before the LML factory crashed and went bankrupt. Some poor unsuspecting sod is gonna buy one only to find that these LML engine parts are even harder to get than the vespa piaggio ones. SIP currently have some NOS of LML star lite parts in but expensive, once they have sold out they are gone.
