I saw these on sale for A$15 (three Melbourne lattes) on aliexpress and couldn't resist but still haven't made up my mind if I actually want to put them on.

They arrived today and I was surprised that they were metal not plastic. Total weight for all 4 is 150g.

🤔

(yes the do have double sided tape on the back I'm just using the clear tape while I'm testing the look)

I like it! Reminds me of the modified scramblers that people go round London on, except you're actually riding on roads where this is functional as well as a nice aesthetic!

I have actually already cracked one of my front running lights. Did it when I dropped it when riding in mud a couple of years ago 🤣

I liked the look of your foot rest ect. inserts and the new bling fits right in with the old. The double sided tape concerns me as most tapes do not hold up well. It is a subtle addition, I like subtle.

Steelbytes, When saw your front indicator light covers I liked the look and the fact that yours were metal. Mine are also from aliexpress and were cheap but mine are plastic. They are held in place by double sided tape and the single screw. Not sure yet which I like better, but might get a set of yours as well! Thanks for showing us.

plastic ones might be easier to put on. although these are already curved they will need a little more before fitting perfectly

the obvious matching style would be to also do the headlight but I feel that might be a bit over the top for me. I'm not aiming for the zombie apocalypse or blacked out style. (probably without the 'hood')

(both of these claim top be plastic)

When I saw the picture of the signal lense covers that SteelBytes posted, I just had to look into things further. I decided to take a chance and ordered a set for my 2008 GTS250ie and waited for delivery.

They arrived today and I spent a few minutes doing the install and they don't look too bad. I have done a couple of other 'black-out' bits on the scooter and these add to the look I am after.

I also blacked-out the exhaust shield, tiny front wheel hub cap, and the plastic cover on the left front wheel.

If you look, you will see the black exhaust shield in my earlier post.

Here's a pic of the left side showing the blacked out left front suspension cover (was chrome) and the rear engine axle cover. I will have to take a pic of the right side of the front tire to show the black cap.

I've thought about the fugly reflectors, but they do add a modicum of safety and anything that helps me be seen is a plus.

when you use "ugly". Our differences make the world go round. Cheers!

What did you use to black those pieces out? Is it holding up? I'd like to do my "tiny front hubcap" and the suspension cover on the front. I have a 2017 and can't find a black cover for it anywhere. If the finish is durable enough I'll do the whole cover over the transmission too.

I had to clean and then sand / scuff all the parts to help with paint adhesion and then sprayed several thin coats of Tremclad Professional Gloss Black rattle can paint. So far holding up just fine.

what you think should not create any bad karma. All have thoughts and most of them differ at least slightly from others. Respect others as you would want them to respect you is just one of many thoughts I think about.

imho if you de-chrome the whole bike they can look good. if only partial it is quite dependant on the colour of the bike etc
