Looking like my '87 SaFiS which I restored in 2021, although yours is a slightly darker red. Mine is P2/5 Rosso Corsa

Not finished, getting there though. Hook turned to the correct orientation. Rear tail light on (I know it's the wrong one). That's what he had before and that's what he wanted (I also find it better looking). His lens was broken, I had a used one, gave it a pass with the miraculous Polytrol by Owatrol and looks like new. Same with the rear turn signals. Rear hub in. Center cap is grayish, I'll be painting it black. Stator rewired, new ground wire on CDI and flywheel getting ready to be painted red, since it gives +2PS and +2k rpm... ROFL emoticon ROFL emoticon ROFL emoticon

kourabies: I have fitted over 20 SIP batteries, only one came dead, immediately replaced by Kostas. I have a 7Ah one on my P for over two years now. No problems with them. Personally, I wouldn't install a Lithium battery on a charging system that wasn't designed for one...

Anyways, today's update...

Hopefully tomorrow it will be finished. Reconditioned the switches and speedo loom, plugs connected, glovebox done, horn cover done and fired it up for the first time...

Finished!!! Lots done the past days, even 'repurposed' his old broken rear rack to install a top box. He's going to Italy in July so we went for a full 'Touring' setup. He came yesterday with a friend of ours, to ride it for the first time. His smile says all...

SIP gel batteries seem to work well, probably just got unlucky.

Not sure about lithium on standard ignition/charging systems.

My experience with other vintage bikes isn't good. Unless the wiring, stator and reg/rec are swapped out, usually things doesn't last long.

Lovely looking PX200e Chris. How did you crimp/secure the new speedo bezel? Do you have any tips?

Used his old one which I repainted. The new one (BGM kit) was stainless steel painted black and in no way I could crimp it. Super hard. The stock one is softer…
