Hi - first timer here but, having searched I couldn't find anything on the following.

I bought a Vespa recently and am looking to change the oil. Currently fitted is an HF197 filter, however everything I read online points me towards an HF183.

What's the difference? I assume diameters - but which one do I need? The manual simply points me towards a 'C' rather than specify filter.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

An older thread says the HF 197 has a hex on the end and the HF 183 doesn't.

Nightwing is correct. The two HF filters are identical in size and capacity. The HF183 has a slot on the top allowing it to be removed with a metal rod or the side of a screwdriver, while the HF197 has a hex head allowing it to be removed with a hex drive. I far prefer the hex head for ease of removal.

Get the HF197, you will find it easier to take off.
