I am wanting to find an older model including the possibility of a Rod model. I don't see many places to end up finding one. Any leads? Anyone looking to sell theirs?
Thanks guys.
Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Canada imported Douglass rod models for their domestic market.

There are a few vespa rod models in the USA that have been imported into collections. I've rebuilt a 1949 and have to say it is a wild setup-

Not that any of that helps pinpoint a bike for sale , but may be a decent starting point for your journey.

BelloMoto has several rod models if your pockets are deep enough.

I have never seen evidence of this statement being true. The earliest Vespas in Canada are 1951 Allstates. While Douglas was technically supposed to supply the commonwealth countries, they never supplied Canada, due to their incompetence. However, the contract also prevented Piaggio from selling in Canada. The earliest Vespas sold in Canada appear around '57/'58.

This is what I have determined just from what I have seen, but any new evidence would be welcome.

My understanding was that the Allstate 788-100s were the first 1000 vespas imported into north America. I'm sure more than a few bikes made their way here before that.

Wow, $36,000! Is that reasonable for that model in that condition?

Canada has imported a lot of unusual vehicles over the years including Lada's. I used to want a Riva, a licensed copy of the Fiat 124. A friend had one at the time.

I had one, for about 3 days a few years back, bit sold it for something like $200.... there simply was no room in the camper for it, sadly.

I think the buyer was going to put it onto a PX lower body
