Group Ride in SW Wisconsin

Many of you may know, that the powerful Diary Lobby in Wisconsin
has paved all back farm section roads so the Milk pickup vehicles can
collect the milk. In Minnesota, many of these back farm sections roads
are dirt/gravel. Combined with the beautiful topography of the SW
Wisconsin "Driftless Region" and paved roads, SW Wisconsin is a
desirable motorcycle riding region.

We kicked off in Hudson WI, just East of the Twin Cities on the St Croix
River. We headed into the back country dodging deer and wild Turkeys
as they appeared on the road in front of us. We had lunch in River Falls
and headed down Cty Rd O, "The best sweeping curved motorcycle road
in all of Wisconsin ending on the Mississippi River.

The Winter and bad weather has been so long, the farmers have not
yet planted the field. Only half of the fields were turned over and plowed.
This was the first Sunny, warm Saturday since October.

Worked many teenage summers north of Madison in the Dells, miss the area immensely. Lots of great highways around there.

You then really know the area. My riding group is out of the
Twin Cities, but, 80% of our rides are into SW Wisconsin.

Yessir, grew up in central Iowa, sister did her undergrad at Luther, her husband is from Calmar (IA), and explored the Wisconsin river with dad hoisting numerous catfish, walleye, and the occasional smallmouth out of the water.

Lots of trips down to Devils Lake for some snorkeling too.

Funny how life works, there's a magician in Baltimore named Spencer Horsman...his parents' claim to fame was they were both Ronald McDonald on tv ads for many years, and cut their teeth as clowns for Ringling Bros (and they're immortalized in Baraboo at Circus World). Was kind of surreal talking to him about the town and agreeing that the jerky at Hart & Vold was some of the best in the state.
