I have a blemish in my matte paint from a tie down strap while I was transporting it to Florida. Seems I'm stuck with it. It's in an odd spot but I was thinking of covering it up with a sticker? What should I do? Live with it or try to cover it up. If i had normal paint I would sand and buff it out. Sucks!

You might know it's there - others won't notice it. Nor will you in a few weeks.

A sticker will remind you of it all the time.

I'd just accept it, and treat it as having lost its virginity. Inevitable later scrapes will feel far less important.

What about a really light sanding with some 5000 grit sand paper?

Totally a bummer. You might try the Matte Paint Cleaner that scooter west has, on my old 22 silver matte super tech, it worked well to take out a minor scuff.

Matte paint is very very unforgiving though. Like others said, it might burn a bit today but the burn will subside and hopefully it won't bother you moving forward.

vetteb_96,

I know many want their Vespa pristine in every way. I was also
among this group of anal retentives. After getting a small scratch
on my brand new Kymco 550, I have been slightly freed of this
phobia. A little factory touch of paint did the job.

As posted above, most will never notice it. This will not help
if you are in the above anal category. I say set your self free,
yes, free at last, free at last.

I fixed a tank bib scratch on a HD matte black tank with a light 1200 grit wet sanding. Whatever you do no rubbing compound!

That's painful, I can sympathize. If it were mine, I'd have professional repair it. The matte finish is provided by a special clear coat over the color base. It may well be simple to have the area sanded by a professional and clear coated. Good luck
